Demonstrates improved energy efficiency in refractory curing, suggesting reduced operational costs.
This intensive research work focusses on the design, manufacturing, & commissioning of an Industrial Bogie Hearth Furnace specially designed for refractory Curing & Sintering process. Heat treatment is carried out by using Recuperative Burners. A recuperative burner is an industrial burner that reduces fuel consumption by up to 30-50% by integrating a heat exchanger to preheat combustion air using waste heat from exhaust gases. Commonly used in high-temperature furnaces for steel and ceramics, these systems offer compact, energy-efficient, and lower-NOx solutions. Optimization of a 25 Tons refractory capacity of Bogie Hearth Furnace used for heating cycle of refractories is achieved by fully automated furnace with the help of PC, PLC & Control Panel having remote access. Waste heat recovery is done with the help of recuperative burners that enhance efficiency as well as helps in reduction of global warming & pollution control. Different loads adaptability by controlling the temperature to save on replacement of furnace or capital equipment & efficiency. The objective to maintain the temperature uniformity inside the furnace as well as maintaining the temperature (max. 1000°C) as per heating cycle of 110 hours required to achieve 0% rejection by heat-treating the refractory throughout its cross-sectional area. Independent burner temperature control system & parameters control helped to achieve the target. Another task of adaptability to different loads without replacement of a furnace or any capital equipment of existing furnace saves on additional cost for different demand from the market. Fuel saving about 30% while operating on full load is achieved with the help of an independent burner control automation system over a manual system. Remote monitoring of operations to ensure safety of 3M (Men, Machine, & Material). The furnace project is practically implemented by M/s Agnee Engineering, Vasai-Virar, Dist. - Palghar, Maharashtra, India & is in operation at M/s Caldrys Refractories Ltd. (MNC - Multinational Corporation), @ KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), Country in west Asia located in the Centre Middle East.
