With the rapid development of the smart home industry during 2020–2025 and the continuous expansion of the global market, insufficient interoperability between different brands and ecosystems, along with risks of user privacy leakage, have become key issues constraining industry progress. Existing device protocol standards lack uniformity, data processing lacks transparency, and privacy protection mechanisms are inadequate. These factors not only severely diminish the actual user experience but also hinder the overall advancement of the smart home industry.Addressing this situation, this study evaluates smart home devices' interoperability and security protection using cross-brand compatibility and privacy protection as core metrics, incorporating real-world usage data from Chinese households. This research provides valuable reference and basis for standardization within the smart home ecosystem, contributing to the coordinated advancement of global smart home industry development in both security and compatibility.
