Anniversary event highlights institute growth and volunteer contributions, reflecting on past successes.
This year, we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the launch of ASCE’s Geo-Institute. As the inaugural president of the G-I, it’s immensely gratifying to see how far we’ve come. When the ASCE Board of Direction established the G-I and the Structural Engineering Institute in 1996, the leaders had exciting visions for the future of their institutes and the enthusiasm to make them a reality. The success of the first two institutes, as well as those that followed, is a testament to three decades of hard work by dedicated volunteers, with strong support from ASCE leadership and institute staff.
