Analysis explores spatial patterns and growth strategies of blue economy in Fujian Province, suggesting improvements for high-quality development.
The blue economy is conducive to the development of coastal areas and can play an important role in promoting economic growth. This paper focuses on the development of the blue economy in Fujian Province, analyzes the current situation and spatial pattern, and puts forward suggestions for the development of the blue economy. The study found that the scale of Fujian's marine economy has been increasing, and its GDP has reached 1.25 trillion yuan in 2024, ranking third in the country for ten consecutive years. The spatial development pattern of "one belt, two cores, six bays and multiple islands" has been formed. However, the blue economy of Fujian Province still faces many difficulties in the process of high-quality development, such as weak land-sea coordination mechanism, slow development of emerging industries, and large regional differences. Therefore, this paper puts forward suggestions from four aspects: upgrading the industrial system, deepening land-sea coordination, optimizing the spatial pattern, and strengthening innovation, hoping to provide reference for the construction of marine strong province.
