Explores urban biotope improvement strategies through bird movement analysis, suggesting new ecological planning insights.
The concept of biotope has evolved from the living space of organisms into a multidimensional concept integrating natural and social environments. Urban biotope research has become a key field for enhancing urban ecological services and livability. Bird movement space analysis offers critical insights for improving urban biotopes and optimizing ecological planning. Using Suzhou as a typical case for refined urban biotope improvement, this study selected six local focal bird species and integrated multi-source data to simulate their movement paths, constructing biotope networks for these species. By comparing with existing ecological planning, three types of biotope development spaces were identified: new "aorta" spaces requiring development, planning policy-oriented spaces, and new "capillary" spaces needing development. Finally, based on urban biotope characteristics and species demand differences, ecological planning optimization strategies were proposed. The study aims to establish a feasible "spatial identification-problem diagnosis-strategy response" technical framework for urban green infrastructure optimization through bird activity space analysis methods.
