This Randomized trial demonstrates a new method for synthesizing thiocyanates in primary amines, indicating improved efficiency.
O-promoted direct deaminative thiocyanation reaction of primary amines. This protocol is compatible with aryl, heteroaryl, and benzyl primary amines, proceeding under mild reaction conditions with good tolerance for a wide range of functional groups. KSCN serves not only as a thiocyanation reagent but also as a reducing agent, thereby eliminating the need for an additional reducing agent in the reaction system. Thus, it provides a facile and efficient route to access thiocyanates. Furthermore, this method is also applicable to the synthesis of selenocyanates.
