The present contribution describes an educational pathway focused on expressive languages, non-cognitive competencies, and audiovisual literacy in lower secondary education. The initiative is part of the national CIPS project –Cinema e Immagini per la Scuola (Cinema and Images for Schools), with the IIS “Piccolomini” of Siena as the lead school, under the leadership of Principal Tiziana Montemarani. The project involved several second-year classes of the lower secondary school of the Comprehensive Institute of Bordighera, together with teachers from different disciplinary areas, highlighting the strong transversal dimension of the school curriculum.
