Synthesis of α,α‐Difluoro‐α‐selanylmethylated Ketones via PhI(OAc) ₂ Mediated Oxyselenenylation of gem ‐Difluoroalkenes With Diselenides and H ₂ O

An efficient methodology for accessing α,α‐difluoro‐α‐selanylmethylated ketones has been developed using diselenides and water with PhI(OAc) 2 as the oxidant under milder conditions. Gram‐scale experiments were performed, demonstrating the feasibility of large‐scale preparation and potential for further chemical biology studies.
