Analysis reveals the female narrative in 'Daily Life of a Immortal Couple', suggesting diversity in feminist representation.
In recent years, female-themed film and television dramas have become a hot spot in mass cultural creation, but there is still a gap in the systematic exploration of their feminist connotations. Taking the costume drama set in an imaginary historical background, "Daily Life of a Immortal Couple", as the research object, this paper adopts the methods of literature research, interdisciplinary research and text analysis, focusing on the three dimensions of the female narrative in the drama: the "de-labeling" of female characters and the awakening of individual consciousness, the reconstruction of traditional female relationships through "female mutual assistance", the gentle deconstruction of the patriarchal structure and its practical limitations, and discusses the adaptability between the creative technique of "imaginary history" and the expression of feminism. The study finds that through the fictional "Nine Rivers" worldview, "Daily Life of a Immortal Couple" avoids the constraints of real history and provides space for the shaping of diverse female images and the expression of gender concepts. Its female narrative not only responds to the practical demand for the awakening of women's rights awareness in contemporary society, but also reflects the development trend of feminism in mass culture from "single resistance" to "diverse tolerance". This study can provide methodological reference for feminist research on similar film and television texts, and at the same time offer practical insights for the creation of female-themed film and television dramas.
