A new species of bryophilous ascomycete, Luteodiscus lecythosporus, is described from living leaves of the moss Bartramia pomiformis from mesic forests in northwestern Washington state, USA. Luteodiscus lecythosporus is separated from the two hitherto known species of Luteodiscus based on unique morphological features and divergent DNA barcoding loci. An updated key to the genus is provided. Luteodiscus epibryus on Scapania americana is reported as new to Washington.
