Tests an optimized IDA-PBC controller in PMSMs, suggesting improved performance and reliability.
This paper presents the challenge of optimal adjusting interconnection and damping passivity based control (IDA-PBC) controller gains for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). Traditional methods for setting gains for this control law are often inefficient and take a lot of time, such as manual tuning, with no guarantee of optimal performance. The proposed approach uses the mathematical model of the PMSM and LQR optimal control, in addition to define an objective function to evaluate control performance and determine the most suitable controller gains. The study shows how LQ optimal control design criteria can guide the selection of IDA-PBC gains in PMSM control, which ensure optimal motor operation. Simulation results demonstrate that the optimized IDA-PBC controller provides robust stability and speed control under load conditions. This methodology provides a systematic and effective means of tuning nonlinear controller gains, improving both performance and reliability in PMSM applications.
