Abstract Movies have both positive and negative implications on the audience. Many concerned audiences have clamoured for reformation while others demand proper censorship on adulterated and negative theme movies. The negative influence of movies has been a major concern in society and especially the content of Nollywood movies. Nollywood productions sometimes display works that target teens and other audiences on the verge of criminality through unrestricted content. These uncensored contents have soiled every moral foundation on which Nigerian society is based. This is not in a way to botch the positive influence of Nollywood based on adequate enlightenment for effective changes through good content. The researchers embarked on the expedition to unravel the impulse for criminality and their consequences on naïve audiences, not limited to teens, and youths through a qualitative research method and content analysis. The paper exposes negativity in movies laced with higher-simulated, adulterated, and uncensored content due to monetary impulse and the unscrupulous race for acceptance and global recognition. This work therefore, recommends improved censorship and necessary enlightenment on the influence of negative content on youths. This is essential to control the accessibilities of negative or criminal impulses in Nollywood movies. Key Words: Nollywood, Negative influence, Criminality, Youths, Oyenusi.
