Genome assembly reveals detailed structure of Banded Thintail fly genome, contributing to biodiversity understanding.
<ns5:p> We present a genome assembly from an individual female <ns5:italic>Meliscaeva cinctella</ns5:italic> (Banded Thintail fly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Syrphidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 753.33 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.48%) is scaffolded into 5 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 17.28 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns5:p>
