Genome assembly reveals two haplotypes and mitochondrial genome of Melanomya nana, contributing to eukaryotic reference genomics.
<ns5:p> We present a genome assembly from an individual male <ns5:italic>Melanomya nana</ns5:italic> (blow fly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Calliphoridae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 1 391.98 megabases and 1 424.34 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (99.62%) is scaffolded into 5 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 27.12 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns5:p>
