Over the past 4 years, landmark trials have definitively established that intensive blood pressure (BP) lowering to systolic targets below 120 mm Hg reduces cardiovascular events and mortality across diverse high-risk populations, and the 2025 American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology (AHA/ACC) hypertension guideline has incorporated these findings into a universal 15-year drought in new antihypertensive mechanisms.
