High PPM rates after CoreValve TAVI warrant close AV block monitoring; leaves open identification of modifiable risks in prospective studies.
One third of patients undergoing CoreValve TAVI require a permanent pacemaker within 30 days, with risk driven by periprocedural AV block, balloon predilatation, larger prosthesis size, increased septal diameter, and prolonged QRS.
