Collection of poetry examines the influence of light and landscapes on human stories and myths.
A collection of poetry traveling through and examining first iterations of light. From vestibule to volcano, where are the places natural, phenomenal, and spoken light reach and pervade us. Inspired by the eruption of the Paricutín volcano in Michoacán, México, which formed in a cornfield and was one of, if not the first, opportunities geologists and volcanologists had to document the full life of a volcano, these poems center on the idiosyncratic tendencies of people and communities. The myths created to understand landscapes, mental, physical, and emotional that are born right before our eyes, once witnessed, what is it you will do with such a thing. What stories will continue to be told, what stories will we continue to become, or stop ourselves from becoming.
