Demonstrates efficient energy assessment in electric submersible pumps, highlighting operational suitability.
Oil production using Electric Submersible Pump Installations (ESPIs) faces the challenge of energy efficiency under frequency control. Existing methods for assessing ESPI efficiency are labor-intensive, and their application to operational process control and planning is challenging due to constantly changing process parameters. This article presents an approach that enables rapid and highly accurate assessment of ESPI energy efficiency during intermittent operation. A key feature is its high practical applicability both in the field and for integrating the presented method into automated control systems and decision-making algorithms for oil and gas production companies. The developed polynomial relationship enables the rapid determination of both the reduced flow rate and specific energy consumption, significantly simplifying the practical application of the method and increasing its versatility for various ESPI operating modes.
