Investigates gas sensing behavior of vanadium pentoxide sensors, suggesting improved sensitivity to gases.
Chemo-resistive gas sensors based on metal oxides are widely valued for their straightforward operation, affordability, and miniaturization potential. This study investigates the sensing behavior of undoped and TiO 2 -doped vanadium pentoxide (V 2 O 5 ) thin films toward nitrogen dioxide, methane, and hydrogen. The changes in electrical conductivity due to gas exposure and removal were successfully modeled using Langmuir adsorption kinetics. The kinetic analysis highlights the effectiveness of Langmuir theory in interpreting the transient response characteristics of metal oxide sensors.
