Evaluates the effectiveness of polymer insulating compounds in high-voltage applications, suggesting improvements in performance.
Modeling and experimental verification of the parameters of a polymer composite insulating compound used in high-voltage engineering is described. Based on the representative volume, a homogenized computational model was developed; the model was exported to STEP format and calculated using the finite element method to determine the effective values of ε, σ, and tanδ when the fractional composition of the filler changes. Laboratory samples with various types of filler were made with fixed volume fractions of components and the calculated and measured characteristics were compared. To match the model with experimental data, parametric identification of phase properties was carried out using a linear volume-fraction averaging rule and introducing adjustment coefficients to the initial component parameters.
