Quantifies the impact of uncertain shaft-bearing fit on rolling bearing fatigue life, suggesting improved reliability design.
The fatigue life of rolling bearings is one of the key indicators for evaluating their performance. Researchers have developed numerous life calculation models from a probabilistic perspective to take into account the influence of actual factors on the uncertainty of the fatigue life. However, the existing fatigue life models cannot describe the dispersion of the lifespan caused by the uncertainty of the interference fit between the shaft and the bearing. To this end, a quantitative model to describe the influence of uncertain shaft-bearing interference fit on the dispersion degree of rolling bearing fatigue life is established based on the quasi-static model and stress-volume model, combined with Chebyshev interval analysis method. The validity of the model is verified through calculating the maximum value of the subsurface von-Mises stress and its depth and compare with those in the literature. Then the influence law of the parameters on the dispersion degree of bearing fatigue life is systematically studied. The proposed method provides a theoretical basis for bearing reliability design and life optimization.
