Analyzes structural properties of fiber scaffolds for autonomous organ design, highlighting engineering potential.
This paper applies Fuller's tensegrity principle to the design of three-dimensional fiber scaffolds for autonomous organ genesis (FJGT/CGFT). It demonstrates that: (1) the optimal fiber scaffold is structurally isomorphic to a tensegrity network; (2) compression nodes attract structural cell types while tension spans guide motile/neural cells; (3) geodesic enclosure maximizes enclosed cell volume per unit scaffold material. Introduces the framework of Tensegrity Bioarchitecture.
