Background Being a silent disease screening is the only route to detect hypertension. Due to the nature of employment, behavioral risk factors for hypertension are high among industrial workers. Objective To ascertain the prevalence of hypertension among industrial workers and associated risk factors. Methodology Various health screening camps in different factories across Faridabad, Haryana, India were conducted for the industrial workers in 2022. Cross sectional analytical design using structured questionnaire was used to collect data pertaining to socio-demographic factors, behavioral factors, anthropometry and blood pressure was captured among all the screened participants. Results Total of 2588 participants were screened in the health camp. More than three-fourth (76.9%) were males. The overall prevalence of hypertension was 30.9% with male and female prevalence of 34.6% and 18.4% respectively. The proportion of obesity was observed to be 8.4%. Hypertension was significantly associated with age, obesity, and presence of family history of non-communicable diseases. Conclusion The raised prevalence of hypertension among the backbone of country’s economy that is the male industrial workers and the known determinants similar to general population alarms the policy makers to move beyond secondary prevention.
