Demonstrates sorption behavior of triterpene saponins in lignin, indicating potential applications in bioprocessing.
The kinetics and equilibrium of sorption of triterpene saponins by hydrolysis lignin are studied. The effect of the surface activity of glycosides on the behavior of the sorption isotherms is determined. Infrared spectra of saponin-free lignin samples and samples of lignin containing sorbed saponin are analyzed. Some thermodynamic characteristics of the studied process (sorption energy, enthalpy, and entropy) are calculated using sorption curves in the Langmuir coordinates. The lignin is subjected to regeneration; the degree of desorption of the saponin is 68–70%.
