This is the author's pre-publication manuscript of the monograph Cædmon's Hymn: A Multimedia Study, Edition and Archive (SEENET A. 8; Cambridge: Medieval Academy of America and D. S. Brewer, 2005; xxii + 261 pp. + CD-ROM). Reprinted as an internet edition in 2018 (SEENET, https: //caedmon. seenet. org/). The book is a critical study and multi-recension edition of the Old English Cædmon's Hymn, with chapters on Bede and Cædmon, sources and analogues, Germanic convention, the manuscripts, filiation and transmission, language, and editorial method, together with critical editions of each recension, supplementary notes, glossary, and apparatus. The manuscript was prepared with the assistance of Dawn Collins, Matt Van Egmond, Jon Lane, Catherine Larson, Angela Mlynarski, Asia Nelson, Lyndon Simmons, and Shelley Stigter. Status of this file. This is a draft, not the published text: it is recovered from a print spool (PostScript) of 26 May 2005 and converted to a searchable PDF. The front matter still carries editorial placeholders ({Publication Information}, {Copyright and LOC information}) in place of the final publisher apparatus, and pagination and minor details differ from the published volume. It is deposited as an open author manuscript for reference and citation; for the version of record, consult the published SEENET edition.
