Bench study compares pressure stability of WILAFlow versus other CPAP devices, suggesting reliability differences.
Multiple external studies 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 and also our in-vitro study 5 found differences in the imposed work of breathing (iWOB) between continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) devices. The WILAFlow (WILAMed, Kammerstein, Germany) uses a constant flow and electrical pressure regulation for generating the CPAP. Clinical observations of the WILA flow led to the question of whether the applied CPAP level is as reliable as in other devices in our unit. Therefore, we compared the pressure stability of the WILA flow with that of other systems recently investigated (5) in an in-vitro setting.
