Background: Scoliosis is a spinal deformity, characterized by visible asymmetry, which can lead to functional impairment and psychological distress. Medical interventions in Korea are commonly used in clinical settings to manage scoliosis. This study aimed to develop a Korean medicine clinical practice guideline (CPG) for scoliosis treatment.Methods: Existing literature and previously established guidelines were reviewed. In addition, a web-based survey among Korean medicine doctors, which investigated perceptions and clinical practices regarding scoliosis, raised key clinical questions and priorities. A systematic literature review was performed, and the quality of evidence was assessed using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation framework. Draft recommendations were formulated based on these findings which were refined through expert consensus using the Delphi method. The final recommendations were agreed by the development and review committees.Results: Sixteen recommendations, each accompanied by a corresponding level of evidence and strength of recommendation, were developed for 6 Korean medicine interventions to form a CPG for the treatment of mild to moderate scoliosis.Conclusion: CPGs are essential for actionable, evidence-based medical decision making which minimize variation and optimize treatmentoutcomes. Continuous research and regular revisions are essential to ensure the clinical relevance and applicability of CPG.
