This project contains the registered protocol for a scoping review examining frameworks, tools, and predictive indicators used to assess and predict wandering risk in persons with dementia, and the extent to which existing evidence supports individual-level risk stratification. The review follows JBI methodology for scoping reviews (Peters et al., 2020) and will be reported per PRISMA-ScR (Tricco et al., 2018). It is conducted in partnership with MedicAlert Foundation Canada, which administers the Safe & Found program for persons with dementia who go missing. Searches will be conducted across seven databases including MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL, and PsycINFO, supplemented by grey literature searching. This project is affiliated with the Translational Research Program, Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathobiology, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.
