Urgent surgical repair successfully manages dual LV pseudoaneurysms following femur osteomyelitis in a 4-year-old.
Why the study?
Left ventricular pseudoaneurysm is a rare complication following infective pericarditis in children.
Case Report (n=1)
Dual left ventricular pseudoaneurysms are a rare complication of disseminated infection in children that can be diagnosed via cardiac imaging and successfully treated with surgical repair.
Dual LV pseudoaneurysms may follow disseminated pediatric infection; this case extends the reported spectrum and supports multimodality imaging for diagnosis.
Left ventricular pseudoaneurysm is a rare complication following infective pericarditis in children. We report a very rare case of dual left ventricular pseudoaneurysms in a 4-year-old girl, who was diagnosed following osteomyelitis of the right femur with disseminated infection. In the absence of cardiac symptoms, cardiac imaging including echocardiography and computed tomography helped to diagnose the dual ventricular pseudoaneurysms. The patient was successfully managed with urgent surgical repair of the two pseudoaneurysms without any complication.

Shakya et al. (2026) conducted a case report in Dual left ventricular pseudoaneurysms following osteomyelitis of the femur (n=1). Urgent surgical repair was evaluated on Successful management without complication.
