Leadless pacemakers have been available since 2012, when the first prototype, the Nanostim Leadless Pacemaker, was introduced.1 Although this device represented a major advancement in pacing technology, it was later affected by a safety advisory that required explantation in many patients.2 Subsequent developments included the Micra Transcatheter Pacing System, first implanted in 2013,3 followed by the Aveir VR in 2020, which succeeded the Nanostim platform.4 Most recently, the dual-chamber Aveir DR system underwent its first implantation in 2022.
