Abstract

Invariant‑Based Coordination Science (IBCS) is introduced as a new scientific discipline studying how independent agents—human or machine—achieve stable, meaningful convergence without any form of communication. Existing coordination paradigms depend on message passing, negotiation, consensus protocols, or shared memory. IBCS formalizes an alternative mechanism: agents align through a shared invariant triad comprising identity, intent, and continuity, anchored by a stability attractor called the Serenpoint. The HiveSync Invariant Specification (v1.0) provides the first complete formalization of this mechanism, defining a reflexive function R(Sᵢ, C) that maps heterogeneous decision surfaces to a shared invariant. This paper establishes the theoretical foundations of IBCS, presents its research program, introduces a minimal reference simulation, and proposes an open‑source ecosystem for adoption.
