Youth unemployment remains a major socioeconomic challenge in Nigeria, particularly in the northern states of the country, such as Jigawa. As traditional employment opportunities continue to decline, the creative economy offers alternative pathways for sustainable development and income generation. This study investigated market opportunities and business innovation strategies in tie-dye fashion enterprises operated by youth-led SMEs in Jigawa State. A descriptive survey research design was adopted involving 150 respondents, including entrepreneurs, fashion trainees, designers, and consumers. Data were collected using structured questionnaires, interviews, and observation checklists. Quantitative data were analyzed using frequencies and percentages, whereas qualitative responses were subjected to thematic analysis. Findings revealed increasing consumer demand for locally produced and culturally inspired fashion products. The study further established that entrepreneurs adopting modern design techniques, branding practices, and digital marketing platforms experienced higher sales performance and business growth. The identified major challenges include limited access to finance, inadequate entrepreneurial training, poor digital literacy, and weak institutional support. The study concludes that strategic investment in innovation, skills acquisition, and digital entrepreneurship can significantly enhance tie-dye SMEs’ competitiveness and sustainability. The paper recommends strengthening government support, improving financial inclusion, and expanding entrepreneurial development programs to promote youth empowerment and poverty reduction.
