This working paper presents PPPM (Parasocial Proxy Punishment Mode) v4.1, a fully developed revision of v3.0 (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.19650013). v4.1 reorganizes the activation pathways into three formal categories—Direct Proxy Punishment, Interpretive Proxy, and Non-PPPM (Self-Reactive)—and clarifies the boundary conditions between PPPM and adjacent phenomena. The paper introduces Punitive Drift as a theorized late-stage transformation in which punishment expands beyond the original grievance. A Desynchronization Index (DI) is proposed as an exploratory composite measure of behavioral, cognitive, and proxy-activation dimensions. The framework is scale-invariant and applies to both individual fans and dispersed collectives. AI-assisted writing was used in the preparation of this paper; details are described in the manuscript.
