The interface reaction approach (IRA) model was proposed to provide a method of determining the adsorption rate constant that is independent of operating parameters. This Comment provides a list of assumptions and observations during model development that resulted in dimensional inconsistencies, making the foundation of the model invalid. This necessitates model reformulations and re-evaluations of different adsorption systems to ascertain the claims of the published work.
