Randomized trial assesses women's empowerment in rural societies, suggesting monetary policy improves participation in business.
Purpose- This study integrates economic development and prosperity with rural sociology and women's well-being. It assesses the women’s empowerment in rural societies in the global context. Methodology-- The study posits that women's subjective well-being in rural societies is a consequence of their empowerment, as measured by their participation in major decision-making. The study assesses women's empowerment in rural societies worldwide by analyzing data from 217 countries over 25 years. Findings- The access and availability of credit to the private sector ensures the availability of cash, which influences households to allow more participation of female members in major family decisions. It was noted that the role of women in businesses is more influential than their role as workers. Conclusions- The role of monetary policy was validated by the impact of domestic credit in enhancing the participation of females in businesses. It was also noted that higher per capita income improves women’s ownership and participation in businesses.
