Study assembles a gap-free reference genome in golden pompano, highlighting genomic adaptation to environments.
Golden pompano (Trachinotus ovatus), a marine fish in the Carangidae family, has a wide geographical distribution and adapts to severe environmental rigours. It is also an economically valuable aquaculture fish. To understand the genetic mechanism of adaption to environmental rigours and improve the production in aquaculture, we assembled the telomere-to-telomere gap-free reference genome by golden pompano (Trachinotus ovatus) of male and female. By combination of ONT ultra-long and PacBio HiFi reads, we assembled 24 chromosomes without any gap.
