Scoping review aims to map interventions for men's engagement in perinatal mental health, suggesting future developments.
This Open Science Framework (OSF) registration contains the protocol for a scoping review titled "Scope, Design Characteristics and Core Components of Gender-Transformative Interventions Engaging Men in Perinatal Mental Health: A Scoping Review Protocol." The review aims to systematically map the existing evidence on gender-transformative interventions that engage men, fathers, male partners, and couples during the perinatal period to promote maternal, paternal, and family mental health. The review will identify intervention characteristics, theoretical foundations, implementation strategies, gender-transformative components, and reported outcomes across healthcare and community settings. The methodology follows the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) guidance for scoping reviews and will be reported in accordance with the PRISMA-ScR guidelines. Findings will inform future intervention development, research, policy, and clinical practice in perinatal mental health and father engagement.
