Investigates the effects of relaxation annealing on magnetoimpedance in Co-based ribbons, indicating sensor optimization potential.
The magnetoimpedance of amorphous rapidly quenched Co 64.5 Fe 2.5 Cr 3 Si 15 B 15 ribbons with a very small negative magnetostriction constant was studied before and after relaxation annealing in specially selected optimum conditions. Practical applications of Co-based ribbons as a sensitive element of small magnetic field detectors can include temperature changes and their properties become dependent on differences in the thermal expansion coefficients of low magnetic field sensor materials. Therefore, obtained results can be useful for optimization of responses of such sensors.
