Examines AI education intent in female students, revealing key differences between Korean and international groups.
This study examined the determinants of behavioral intention toward artificial intelligence (AI) education among female university students enrolled in liberal arts-oriented software (SW) courses, drawing on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT).It also investigated whether behavioral intention differed between Korean and international students. To this end, an SW course was designed and implemented for 179 female university students, a survey was administered, and multiple regression analysis was conducted. The main findings were as follows: performance expectancy significantly affected behavioral intention among both Korean and international students; effort expectancy and facilitating conditions were significant predictors only among Korean students; and social influence showed no significant relationship with behavioral intention among Korean students but negatively affected behavioral intention among international students. This study contributes to the literature by identifying key factors influencing behavioral intention toward AI education and highlighting group-level differences between Korean and international students.
