The growing integration of inverter-based resources (IBRs) significantly increases power system complexity, making pre-deployment verification critical to prevent multi-vendor integration failures. To overcome the limitations of conventional testing, this paper highlights the efficacy of large-scale Controller Hardware-in-the-Loop (C-HIL) simulations for validating system reliability. Furthermore, practical application examples of large-scale C-HIL and recent advancements in relevant IEEE Standards are discussed.
