Examines how place affects leader formation in community development, suggesting important implications.
This study examined relationships between the formation of leaders and specific places in community development, focusing on a park and a community hub in Koga, using an analytical approach that shifts the perspective. The results revealed that the transmission of place information to leaders and their perceptions of the place—how they understand it—influence the formation process of leaders. It also became clear that the place itself undergoes transformation through the activities of these leaders. These findings represent new insights into relationships with place in leaders that had not been clearly established in previous research.
