This paper will attempt to elucidate the impact of treatment of sexual recidivism on child molesters. It will discuss the current literature on treatments for child molesters as well as explain possible future research endeavors. Due to limitations in current literature such as effective research designs, treatment of sexual recidivism has not been properly studied. Therefore, there needs to be an attempt to create better research designs, treatment procedures, and sample selection in order to properly understand the impact of these treatments on child molesters. This also has greater impacts on policy because understanding effective treatment methods can lead to effective policymaking that addresses the issue of child molesters and ensures the safety of these children.
