Randomized trial optimizes wind and solar energy systems, suggesting efficient renewable energy management.
This paper proposes a hybrid model‐based back‐to‐back voltage‐source converter (B2B‐VSC) system comprising a Photovoltaic (PV) array and a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG)‐based wind energy conversion system. The Wind‐Side Converters (WSC) and the Grid‐Side Converters (GSC) have a common DC‐link voltage. The Photovoltaic array is directly connected, eliminating the need for DC‐DC conversion sensors since there is no power converter to produce a fluctuating DC‐link voltage. The proposed hybrid model will use Maximum Power Point Trackers (MPPTs) to optimise the use of the proposed renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind energy. It is a hybrid voltage control approach that incorporates Proportional‐Integral (PI) controllers with the Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) optimization. The ABC optimization is distinguished by the proposed solution's novel application of an intelligent Swarm of honey bees' foraging behaviour, which enables random exploration and adaptation to complex optimization challenges. The ABC algorithm optimises the gain settings under various operating conditions to manage the DC‐link voltage across all scenarios effectively and assesses the system's performance under utility grid failures. Finally, a MATLAB/Simulink system simulation model using ABC optimization is developed to validate the usefulness and excellence of the suggested strategy.
