Demonstrates enhanced photocatalytic activity in flower-like Bi2Se3/BiOBr heterojunctions, indicating potential for environmental applications.
BiOBr-based photocatalysts hold promising application prospects in environmental remediation and the development of the carbon cycle. In this work, Bi 2 Se 3 /BiOBr (BS/BOB) composite photocatalysts were successfully synthesized via a solvothermal method. Systematic characterizations confirm that the presence of Bi 2 Se 3 induces the formation of 3D flower-like BiOBr and enhances light-harvesting properties. Meanwhile, Bi 2 Se 3 is successfully decorated on BiOBr to form a heterojunction structure, which significantly accelerates the separation and transfer of photogenerated charge carriers. The BS/BOB samples exhibit superior photocatalytic activity toward photocatalytic Rhodamine B degradation and CO 2 reduction compared with bare BiOBr. Among them, the sample with a Bi 2 Se 3 loading molar ratio of 4% (4BS/BOB) exerts the most outstanding photocatalytic performance. This work provides a valuable reference for the design and development of multifunctional bismuth-based materials for environmental remediation and energy conversion applications.
