In Ayurveda, acne is described as Mukhadushika or Yuvanapidika, which is a condition caused due to vitiation of Kapha, Pitta, Vata, and Rakta. This article tells about the different causes of acne according to modern as well as ayurvedic view. It further tells about the Samprapti (pathogenesis), lifestyle related causes, cosmetic triggers, disease associations, and mechanism factors.
