Demonstrates enhanced acetaldehyde degradation in multidimensional photocatalysts, implying new design methods for environmental applications.
Constructing photocatalysts with multidimensional active site architectures represents a powerful strategy for boosting visible‐light‐driven VOC degradation efficiency. Here, we report a structure regulation strategy achieved through interface coupling of a bimetallic gold‐bismuth (Au‐Bi) nanodot network with heteromorphic Bi 2 WO 6 composed of mesoporous nanofibers and nanosheets. This yields distinctive Au‐Bi nanodot‐anchored 1D/2D Bi 2 WO 6 photocatalysts exhibiting optimized charge transfer pathways and amplified surface reactivity. The bimetallic Au‐Bi network collaboratively forms multi‐scale Schottky junctions, effectively promoting the separation of photogenerated electron‐hole pairs while simultaneously enhancing visible‐light absorption via localized surface plasmon resonance effects. Concurrently, the in situ formation of 0D Au‐Bi nanodots and heteromorphic 1D/2D Bi 2 WO 6 during reduction sintering induces abundant oxygen vacancies, promoting oxygen activation and reactive oxygen species generation. The multidimensional 0D/1D/2D Au‐Bi/Bi 2 WO 6 photocatalyst rapidly and thoroughly degrades acetaldehyde, achieving degradation rates 13.2‐fold and 5.92‐fold higher than those of 1D/2D Bi 2 WO 6 and 1D/2D Bi‐Bi 2 WO 6 , respectively. Moreover, this catalyst maintains exceptional stability across five consecutive cycles. This work pioneers an innovative methodology for designing high‐performance heterogeneous photocatalysts.
