The article presents theoretical approaches to understanding technology transfer and substantiates the need to choose the optimal transfer model for the industrial sector of the economy. The article presents that technology transfer is not only a process of transferring scientific and technical solutions, but also a complex mechanism for adapting, mastering and introducing innovations into the real sector and practice. The author proposed a unique classification of technology transfer models based on a number of criteria, and found that models focused on multi-level interaction, developed cooperation of participants, risk management, and institutional support for implementation are of the greatest value to the industrial sector. The author concludes that the optimal model of technology transfer in industry should be comprehensive, combine elements of networking, organizational support and strategic adaptation of technologies to industry conditions and features.
