Non-experimental study examines how theory of mind mediates executive functions and quality of life in adults with ADHD, suggesting important connections.
The present study examines the mediating role of “Theory of Mind (ToM)in the relationship between executive functions and quality of life and empathy in adults with ADHD. A non-experimental study was carried out. This study uses a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 125 patients diagnosed with ADHD. The Empathic Tendency Scale (ETS), The Path Test, The Wisconsin Card Sorting Task, The Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test, and The WHOQOL-brief life satisfaction scale were used to collect data. The results indicated that the proposed research model had a good fit and that adults” quality of life and empathy were predictable based on executive functions, and that ToM mediated this relationship.
