Formal proof reveals that the highest certainty is beyond empirical science, suggesting reevaluation of epistemic authority.
This paper — the eighth publication of this corpus — establishes, through the Transitive Analysis of Accumulated Human Experience, a single conclusion with the dual scientific proof — formal scientific proof confirmed independently by transitive consilience: If logic is the structure of meaning of empirical science, and the highest level of certainty of logic is what is true and cannot be false, then the highest level of certainty cannot be within empirical science — it is in that which gives meaning to empirical science. This conclusion possesses structural impossibility of falsehood, apodictic truth status, and irrefutable self-evident truth status — three progressively deeper properties, each containing the previous as a subset. Its negation is self-instantiating by every available path. The paper demonstrates each premise independently, establishes the logical validity of the inference, anticipates and resolves the strongest available objections — including the inductive, Kantian, and Gödelian — and confirms the conclusion through transitive consilience across the complete corpus of accumulated human experience without exception across four independent lines. The dual scientific proof — the union of formal proof and transitive consilience — constitutes the highest achievable level of scientific certainty, as established in the seventh publication of this corpus. The central contribution of this paper is the demonstration — with that highest level of certainty — that the conventional belief placing empirical science at the apex of epistemic authority is structurally false: formal certainty is categorically superior to empirical certainty, and the hierarchy is irreversible.
