Demonstrates improved emotional scores in participants using AI-assisted painting therapy, suggesting innovative therapeutic potential.
Grounded in embodied cognition theory and AI Image Generator technology, this study introduces an innovative “AI-assisted Embodied Painting Therapy” that integrates emotional and bodily experiences. It addresses the technical limitations of traditional art therapy and enhances the emotional-body connection in psychotherapy. Sixteen participants are assessed using the Emotional Valence Questionnaire, with evaluation conducted via the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and qualitative analysis. Results indicate a significant improvement in emotional scores post-intervention (p < 0.001). Qualitative findings further explore emotional regulation mechanisms. This study provides new theoretical insights for art therapy and demonstrates its potential in clinical psychological interventions.
